On being a data guru
Apr. 18th, 2007 09:46 pmMuch to my astonishment, I've recently found myself transmogrified into a data guru. Normally I shun such things but, business on my side of the house having been slack of late, I've found myself called in to troubleshoot various problems with Unitree and even, whisper it, ACSLS.
Every time I get caught up in data storage matters, I thank God that they're not my bread and butter. The work is almost completely thankless, the opportunities for catastrophic data loss are myriad, and the software interfaces have the look and feel of something from the depths of the Iron Age. It makes me appreciate my long suffering colleagues all the more...
