Not doing anything
Jul. 8th, 2007 09:47 pmI appear to be having an existential crisis. I've got a thousand important things to do, but I can't seem to bring myself to start any of them. Instead, I've been militantly distracting myself with other stuff.
Thus, this weekend, instead of arrange my holiday — strictly speaking, it's only the return from my holiday that I need to arrange, so what is it, exactly, that my subconscious is trying to tell me? — I've occupied myself with:
- Two Stoppard Plays
- An Agatha Christie dramatisation. Coincidentally, I was quite taken with these French comic adaptations of two of Poirot's best known cases. Very cool.
- A dull feature on John Gray, who is, according to the article, some sort of insightful thinker.
- A good et cetera which name checked Gibson's Idoru and mentioned a very cool book, Of Modern Dragons, dedicated to the joys of serial fiction from crime to SF. Sounds super shiny.
- Two novels
- Two comics
- Redoing my toes more in hope than expectation of being able to wear sandals at some point in the next couple of weeks.
Talk about being busy doing nothing.
