Nice day in Nikiana
Aug. 2nd, 2007 07:45 pmHaving done a bit of shopping and recovered our confidence following yesterday's debacle, we moved from our anchorage to Nikiana quay and moored up flawless. I was pleased to discover that they've finally reconcreated the breakwater, making it possible to jump ashore without cutting the soles of your feet to ribbons.
We spent the day pottering around the town before heading up to P&K's for drinks and a chance to view their new swimming pool which, much to P's disgust, had gone a very coppery shade of green. We admired the house, which had progressed quite substantially since I last saw it, before sitting around on the terrace nattering about sailing and taking it in turns to play Boggle with the nephew.
We walked back to town, declining P's offer of a lift on the grounds that we needed the exercise, and picked up a new pair of goggles for the nephew at the supermarket. We had dinner at Porto Nikiana, my parents favourite restaurant, where I had briam and mater had octopus spaghetti.
