A software analyst was trying to fix a broken supercomputer by reinitialising the disc channels. The engineer, seeing what the analyst was doing, said, "You cannot fix a machine simply by reinitialising the channels with no understand of what is going wrong." The engineer reinitialised the channels and the machine worked.
