Books, Chocolate and Bristol
Sep. 29th, 2007 06:38 pmAttempting to escape the hideous crowds of Exeter — drawn in, no doubt, by a desire to mooch around the new Princesshay development — I dragged my lazy self to Bristol and hit the bookshops there. For the record, I picked up:
- Farthing by Jo Walton
- Russian Thinkers by Isaiah Berlin
- The Demon and the City by Liz Williams
- Reading Comics by Douglas Wolk
I also picked up some tasty organic chocolate, which I enjoyed at the time, but which has disagreed with my feeble constitution most profoundly and is making me feel ill. I really need to come to terms with the fact that I can't tolerate the stuff at all any more. Either that or decide to conduct the rest of my life from a bath chair, a tartan rug over my knees, a charming nurse to attend to my ruined health and an young, adoring amanuensis on hand to take down my every utterance for posterity. Hmm, actually, that sounds pretty appealing...
