Larks and circandian rhythms
Nov. 5th, 2007 08:21 pmI've been suffering, the last week or so, from something that feels like jet lag. I've been jokingly blaming the daylight saving change but, according to today's Guardian, I may actually be on to something:
According to Idzikowski, some people will feel these effects [of sleeping in late] more forcefully, with "morning" people often finding it more difficult to deal with disruptions to their body clock. "People who find it easier to get up in the morning and go to bed earlier tend to find it harder to adjust," says Idzikowski. "This could just be because they have more of a routine, but it certainly seems to be the case that they feel the effect of disruption more than people who are night owls."
Which probably explains it.
