Dirk Gently on Radio 4

I rather enjoyed the R4 dramatisation of Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency, despite initial concerns that it might turn out to be too quirky to be coherent on radio. The cast were great, from the leads to the bit parts. The tricky characters were deftly handled, with Robert Duncan skilfully running the gamut from egomaniacal tycoon to lonely ghost, while Toby Longworth made his every utterance as the Electric Monk completely and utterly believable. A delight.

It makes me want to re-read the book.
