The limits of work-wear?

Todays exercise in coffee drinking, gossiping and shoe fetishisation was enlivened by the woman at the front of the queue was wearing a corset. Actually she wasn't — it was just a top with a ribbon laced back presumably intended to suggest a corset without actually being — but it obviously raised the bar for acceptable work-wear.
Perhaps it's time for me to dust of the more Neo-Vicky aristo parts of my wardrobe: who could possibly object to a tweed suit, welding goggles and big chunky platforms?
