According to HPCwire, the alma mater is buying a modest little machine — 2,048 CPUs with a peak of 25 TFLOPS — from Bull. It's not clear what they actually plan on doing with it when it arrives, but from the puff piece it looks as though it's their attempt to keep up with all the other UK universities who've decided to buy themselves a baby super. Whither (or, indeed, wither) HECToR in all this? Who knows.
