Transport chaos
Mar. 24th, 2008 09:35 amFollowing on from yesterday's fiasco, my parents were less than overjoyed to get a phone call first thing from my errant aunt. Rather than waiting until today, as planned, she had returned to London yesterday just as soon as the snow had melted. Thus, she said, would be unable to stop by and pick up her mother on her way back.
Normally, this would not be a problem. But, it being Easter, the are no seats available on National Express and the rail route from Birmingham to Euston is closed for engineering work. Thus, the only possible routes open to my grandmother seem to involve going to Paddington via Reading or going to Snow Hill to catch the train to Marylebone — both equally hassle prone options.
What a nuisance.
