The identity of flames

According to Heraclitus, it is not possible to step into the same river twice. But what about the Olympic flame? Is it the same flame if it has been blown out and reignited from a source causally connected with the source at Olympia? Is it the same flame if it has been re-lit by a Canadian using his cigarette lighter? Is it even coherent to ask whether flames have an identity?
