At around half three this morning, I got out of bed and went in search of a glass of water. Nothing unusual in that. But, just as I was heading back to bed, I got a phone call from work — the NAE limited area forecast had deadlocked with a numerical instability and the operations people wanted reassurance. Talk about a strange and lucky coincidence.
