Bate plays Messiaen

Today's Sunday afternoon prom was rather special: Jennifer Bate playing Olivier Messiaen's Apparition de l'Eglise Eternelle and La Nativite du Seigneur. Both pieces worked well in the Albert Hall, with Apparition a particular and perfect delight — I don't think I've ever heard it sound quite so wonderful!
