Back in September, I took part in the Health Survey for England. And when I was asked if I'd be willing to participate in the medical follow-up, I said yes, because it didn't sound like a big deal. And it turns out that I was right: everything was fine. All I had to do was have my blood pressure and heart rate measured, provide a saliva sample by chewing on a piece of cotton wool, give a sample of blood and have my waist and hip measurements taken.

Consequently, I've had it confirmed that I'm disgustingly healthy. My BP is nicely in the comfort zone, despite all the hassles of late; my resting heart rate is a bit on the slow side at a stately 41 BPM, but this is probably just a consequence of all the running and swimming; and I'm skinny, which isn't particularly surprising — if the nurse's tape-measure is anything to go by, I'm less than half the size of her previous patient...

It's very difficult to slow down resting heart rate whatever the amount of sport you are doing.
Therefore that just means you are a naturally born athlete.

What you have to do now is probably to start eating a normal portion
of food every day.
