sawylIn keeping with today, here's the opening requiem aeternam from Britten's War Requiem:
I vividly remember the last time I saw this live, back in 1997. I managed to catch a performance given by Rattle and the CBSO with, I think, Robert Tear, Simon Keenlyside and Andrea Gruber as soloists. It created quite an impression.
