It's cold out there
Nov. 30th, 2009 08:57 pmI like cold weather running. But I've got to admit the first mile or so, while I'm still warming up, always sucks. And tonight was no different.
But once I'd got over the shock of the cold and started to get into the flow of things, I really rather enjoyed myself. I even managed to overtake a cyclist — always a cause for satisfaction! And if, when I found myself caught by a chill wind down by the river, I had cause to rue my decision to wear fingerless mits instead of gloves, this was not enough to dampen my enthusiasm.
Still, looking at the forecast, I'm glad I decided to run this evening, rather than leaving it until first thing tomorrow morning, given that I've no desire to repeat last year's ice-induced phalangeal fiasco.
