A big birthday bash

I'd intended to limit myself the lunchtime event to celebrate M's birthday, but somehow I allowed myself to be talked into the evening event too. I had a good time, as, I think, did everyone else, and it was nice to be able to catch up with some people I hadn't seen for a while but things ran on rather late and I was all but asleep on my feet by midnight.
