sawyl | A less than edifying conversation

My parents deigned to phone for the first time in a while, but the conversation was rather muddled. For one thing they seem to mistake my flippancy for seriousness and started talking to me as if they thought I was in the middle of some sort of nervous breakdown. For another, they seemed to believe the connection was far worse than it was, with mater sacrificing every other sentence in order to tell me that the line was breaking up, even with I hadn't actually said anything.

I hate to think what they had for supper, but I strongly suspect it was more liquid than solid.
