Bach's violin and oboe concerto
Jul. 2nd, 2010 05:54 pmFor no very good reason, other than that I just heard it on R3's In Tune, here's the allegro finale from Bach's Concerto for Violin and Oboe BWV 1060 — reconstructed from the concerto for two harpsicords. The performance is from 1984 and features Concentus Musicus Wien with Alice Harnoncourt and Jürg Schaeftlein as solists and Niklaus Harnoncourt on cello. It's nicely done, even if the tempo is a little slow by current standards:
