For some reason the BBC are devoting half an hour to Jacques Brel. I've only been listening to the show for five minutes and already he's been compared to Joe Strummer and Jesus Christ...

Hi Sam,

Jacques Brel is a almost forgotten, but in Belgium still famous troubadour.
He sings about life. He is not a very good singer, but a great song/text
writer that somehow succeeds in putting his emotions in words and into singing.
He also made some very nice songs in Dutch ("Vlaanderen mijn vlak land",
"Amsterdam").

If you are interested I have a CD somewhere, I can sample you something.
