Reload page in style: site light

I've finally deathmarched my way to the end of GRRM's A Game of Thrones, and I'm not at all sure what to make of it. I found the first two thirds a real slog, but found that things picked up a I approached the end. Although I liked Martin's writing style, I really struggled to connect with the characters and found the foreshadowing a touch obvious.

Now that it's safely behind me, I'll admit that I'm glad I read it, but I don't feel any frantic need to move straight on to the even longer A Clash of Kings...
