Of trains and dragons

Largely tolerable journey back from the Midlands. I took an earlier than planned train to Birmingham, neatly avoiding the (very delayed) train I'd been planning to catch, and found myself with an extra ten minutes to spend in Waterstones. The train from Birmingham to Exeter wasn't too crowded and, despite not booking ahead, got a seat and settled down to read my way through a big chunk of GRRM's A Dance with Dragons.
