Another take on the benedictus
Nov. 6th, 2011 09:38 pmFollowing on from Thursday's version of the Benedictus from the B-minor Mass, here Karl Richter's rather charming take on the same piece from the late 60s:
The differences are striking: a solo violin taking the obbligato part, much larger orchestral and choral forces, modern instruments, slower tempi, and a generally more romantic style of performance.
