Another take on the benedictus

sawylFollowing on from Thursday's version of the Benedictus from the B-minor Mass, here Karl Richter's rather charming take on the same piece from the late 60s:
The differences are striking: a solo violin taking the obbligato part, much larger orchestral and choral forces, modern instruments, slower tempi, and a generally more romantic style of performance. But the piece still works and the da capo repeat of the Hosanna that closes clip certainly flatters Richter's huge choir and modern brass.
