Good crossword progress

A couple of good Guardian crossword days. Yesterday's cryptic completed without outside assistance and only minor help from the dictionary. Today's completed with only one clue outstanding — the answer I failed to get was Huyton because, as I subsequently discovered, Harold Wilson was before my time.

Sadly I don't think that any of this is a sign of my improving skills as a solver; rather, I think the last couple of puzzles just happen to have been quite easy.
