What would Commander Dalgliesh do?
Nov. 22nd, 2011 09:47 pmPD James was happy to take on Austen, so perhaps she'd oblige - I'd love to see what Dalgliesh might do when faced with an enemy who just won't die (and also wants to eat his flesh).
The answer, surely, ought be obvious to anyone who's read more than one of PD James' novels: he would quietly congratulate himself on securing such a long lease on his flat high above the Thames at Queenhithe; he would lament the traffic jams caused by all the abandoned cars and carefully factor in an extra hour when driving out of London in his Jaguar; and, finally, I suspect he'd carefully balance his increased privacy with the descreased availability of proper bacon, before reluctantly coming down in favour of the former.
In other words, I don't think a zombie apocalypse would affect the stoic copper/poet one iota...
