Gridlock Exeter

Not quite sure what was wrong with the traffic today: it was snarled up along all the way along Western Way, with cars queuing all the way back to the Mount Radford. I suggested to W, perhaps rather selfishly given his complete inability to navigate unaided, that he'd be better going right along Denmark Road, dropping me off at the end and then following Paris Street and New North Road to join St David's Hill via Hele Road, bypassing the worst of the jam.

I wonder if he managed it? I'm more than a little worried because he normally drives by rote, following the same route to and from the office with ne'er a variation, even when means travelling out of his way...
