Lego, a disagreement, and more lego
Dec. 30th, 2012 09:38 pmStill not feeling at all well, I spent the day polishing off Opposing Force. Later my nephew came by to mess around with some of my old Lego and, after being put in the invidious position of being told to pry him off the computer, I ended up having a go at him for his behaviour — a shame, because upto that point he'd actually been extremely well behaved.
I blame the blow up a combination of illness on my part and his claim pretended attempt to call Childline on the other — something that always use to annoy me when my sister used to threaten it: if the worst thing in your life is that you're not allowed to do exactly what you want all the time, you're spoilt, not in need of counciling; and if you call about your pathetic problems, that means that some poor kid in genuine need is going to be less likely to get through, which seems pretty damned selfish to me.
Happily we managed to settle things back down and, after a trouble-free supper, we ran through my nephew's lego books — I'm extremely envious of some of the more recent Technic sets...
