A surprise birthday party
Mar. 26th, 2013 11:15 pmSpent a busy day dashing around Coventry engaging in minor acts of capitalism. In the morning, I dragged myself into the centre to pick up a birthday present for pater — Chinua Achebe's Things Fall Apart — and in the afternoon, I wandered around GO Outdoors thereby avoiding the preparations for tonight's surprise party.
The party was a great success: the surprise guests arrived out of the blue bearing chocolate and authentic champagne, and there was time to catch up before my sister arrived and we left for Da Vinci's. A good time was had by all — there were many toasts and a certain amount of singing in Russian — before my A and my sister disappeared off to take Sarah to the station in time for the last train.
