A lazy day with the folks

Rainy Sunday spent reading and catching up with my parents. The day was interrupted by a series of outbursts from my nephew when my father's attempts to get him to do his homework encountered abrupt resistance. Kudos to pater for managing to get the boy to do something, despite the temper tantrums and hyperactivity; I suspect that his enormous reserves of patience are due to his experiences with Bea and me — neither of whom were anything like as difficult! — coupled with his years of experience persuading reluctant students to get down to work they don't necessary want to do.
