A day in South London
Nov. 23rd, 2013 10:00 pmThanks to an early start, I caught one of the fast trains to Paddington and managed to get myself to Wimbledon by eleven. We went to the Olive Garden in Raynes Park for lunch before splitting up, with H & J going to off to play in the sandpit at the park while P & I combined a trip to the supermarket with a chance to catch up on things.
Picking up the others from the park, we spent the rest of the afternoon watching climbing videos before getting to work on supper. P cooked a fantastic five-spice squash & red onion bake along with a leek & cannellini bean stew made with mint and milk, with my contribution limited to chopping up bits and pieces for the salad.

With J safely in bed, we rounded out the evening with Wolverine in 3D. The film wasn't too bad: the plot was rather wobbly and the characters a little bit flat — definitely not a patch on Singer's first two X-Men movies — but the production values were high, it was pretty to look at, and it made for an enjoyable night in.
