Because I had not climbed enough...
Feb. 24th, 2014 10:14 pmYesterday's restraint paid off and we found ourselves on really good form. R was concentrating on her footwork, which looked very smart from the ground — good placement, nice use of her toes to stand up on things and to maximise her reach, solid smearing — finishing most of the mid-level stuff with no trouble at all and making good progress with a couple of her projects.
I completed a 6b I hadn't been able to do before because I couldn't work out the first couple of moves, I managed an only slightly rough send of a 6b+ composed entirely of slopers — thanks to a combination of improved strength and technique, a lot of the moves actually felt comfortable — and I finished off with a very dirty 6c which, although I got to the top, felt more than an exploration than a climb — although, again, I suspect with another attempt or two, I ought to be able to get it clean.
