Stamina work and stretches
Mar. 27th, 2014 07:23 pmA short afternoon session solo climbing with a focus on stamina work. I split my time, spending the first part bouldering and using the rest to do as many auto routes as possible before my arms died. I felt a bit of wimp when I discovered that N&E were trying to get 30 routes done in two hours — although the were purely running a numbers game, climbing the easiest things they could find to get their count up whilst still leaving room for improvement!
It definitely feels as though the work is starting to pay off. Not only am I able to do stuff I couldn't do before, but I've noticed that I no longer suffer post-climb twinges in my core. I'm also pleased to find that the enhancements I've added to my stretching routine, which I'd based on my post-swim set but which missed some of my forearm muscles, appear to have dealt with the annoying tightness that I'd been experiencing — kudos to me for actually bothering to read the poster in the training room!
