Some successes, some failures...
Apr. 10th, 2014 09:30 pmOut for what I'd expected was going to be a gentle evening at the quay, I bumped into M who was climbing for the first time since January! After W left relatively early, we made an evening of the rest of it — I made a very solid attempt at flashing a tough new 6b only to fail to stick the penultimate move, largely because I realised that a handful of the staff were hanging around at the bottom & heckling! — and climbed a bunch of stuff.
As we were winding down, I tried to finish a couple of the boulder problems I've been working on, including a V2 I ought to have been able to finish without thinking, only to get a good solid steer from P on what I was doing wrong: trying to use the holds with the edge of my feet when I should have been standing on point. I wasn't able to complete it — to tired to stick the last move — but I'm pretty confident I'll be able to cross it off next time.
ETA: turns out the beta was spot on and I cracked the problem on my first attempt on Sunday. Excelsior!
