Coffee cake and mild peril?

sawylFinally having a bit of time to myself, I've spent the afternoon trying out a few things in the kitchen. I made cupcakes using a cut-down version of Felicity Cloake's coffee and walnut cake — very nice, even though I somehow managed to forget the walnuts — and made the a few things I don't normally bother with for supper.
Pottering in the kitchen, I used the time to catch up with my podcast backlog, including Emma Newman's Tea and Jeapardy, and I now have a fair idea why Seanan McGuire's group are called the Travelling Circus and Snake-Handling Show...
ETA: I've just noticed that Tea and Jeopardy has made the Hugos shortlist for best fancast. I'm also pleased to see that McGuire's Parasite is up for best novel, as is Anne Leckie's Ancillary Justice, but Wheel of Time? For best novel? Seriously?
