Preparations
Apr. 26th, 2014 02:50 pmAnother early start, this time to allow my sister and my niece to get their make-up done in time to go to get their hair done at midday. Bored with all this, I wandered into town to checkout the bookshops, only to find myself pressed into service as an emergency procurer of eyeliner.

An artfully tweaked photo of Jade in her make-up

A more candid shot of Bea looking terribly relaxed for someone who's just about to get married...
With my return and J's arrival, everything moved up a gear and we were given strict instructions to be dressed by 2:30. Needless to say mater worried that I was going to let the side down and she was greatly relieved to see the results of R's shopping trip.

Mater in a summery, flowery number that really suits her.

Proof that the pater scrubs up rather well when he makes the effort — the ivory-coloured tie, picked to match the wedding dress, seems a particularly good choice.

I can't help but think that John looks very like my grandfather in this photo.

Even Jade, with her photography A-level, can't do much for me.

Jade who, in anything other than flats, needs to watch her head on door frames...

A first look at the Bride's dress.

The Bride and Bridesmaid could almost be sisters...
Finally, with everything in readiness, the car arrived to pick up pater, my sister, and her bridesmaid. Despite pater's repeated comments about a limo, my sister absolutely delighted to discover that her prospective in-laws had arranged something a bit special for her and she wasn't going to have to travel to her wedding in a Ford Fiesta, as she'd assumed...

Sadly I don't have any actual photos of their departure because mater, as usual, insisted that we leave ten minutes before everyone else in order to... Well, I'm not quite sure why...
