Solo progress
May. 26th, 2014 06:36 pmModerately satisfying afternoon of solo climbing. I bumped into someone I know slightly and we talked through some of the auto problems, although we both seemed to be getting stuck at the same points. Still I made some solid progress. I tried a 6b I've tried a few times before and got to within a couple of moves to the end, with a decent idea of why I'd failed and how I can fix it next time.
I also worked on the route I'd tried just after it was set back in April, which, annoyingly, I still can't finish, although I've got the section up to crux down to a fine art. I think I know where I'm going wrong: I'm taking too long to try to get my footwork right before tackling the overhang. I either need to fix things by getting my sequencing right lower down or I need to flag and trust my fingers will stay on the crimps until I'm up.
