As promised a couple of months ago, C & I finally found a date we could both go climbing. We both did a handful of the easy routes and I flashed a couple of the new auto routes while C took it easy — partly to recover from giving blood earlier in the day! I considered doing something difficult, had second thoughts, and persuaded G to help polish C's slightly shaky belaying technique before we moved on to something a bit trickier.
After a few tips and suggestions from the master to put everything on a firmer footing, I then spent most of the rest of the evening trying out a few things I hadn't done before, including one enjoyably fiddly route close to the viewing gallery. Sadly I didn't finish it, despite some (possibly) helpful suggestions from the gallery and J's passing cry of encouragement — "Go on S! You can do it!" — was almost guaranteed to make me fail!
Things were rounded off with a couple of easy slabs — or at least I thought they were easy, C found them a bit challenging in her blood-deprived state! — and we called it an evening.
