Walking the dogs...
Aug. 18th, 2014 10:05 pmCaught up with stuff this morning, tried and failed to locate a modest sized lasagne dish — I'm keen to try out Felicity Cloake's veggie recipe — and settled down with my current novel and the delights of R3.
In early afternoon, I caught the delightful local train to Dawlish to meet R for a cream tea, a slideshow, and presents. Suitably fuelled and caught-up, we took the dogs for a walk up behind the town — very quiet despite the lovely weather and the crowds lower down. Out of respect for my lack of assertiveness, I got B, who was much less work than E — he's actually rather well behaved, it's just that he pulls a lot and is forever stopping to sniff things. We slowly looped round and came back down to the town in time for me to get the fast service back to Exeter.
ETA: removing my shoes, I discovered that the left one was full of soil and my sock — a white one, naturally — was brown with earth. One of the dogs did a spot of digging around while were having tea and I knew he'd managed to flick a couple of bits of stuff in my direction, but I hadn't realised quite how extensive it was otherwise I'd've emptied it out there and then...
