One route too many?
Sep. 21st, 2014 08:54 pmBit of an epic session this afternoon culminating in a slightly rash attempt on one of the new lead routes. It wasn't rash because the route was difficult; but rash because I knew I was already tiring and ought to have called it quits.
In the end I got to the top, fumbled the anchor clip a couple of times and took a decent sized fall when my other arm gave out. On the way down I managed to avoid hitting any of the volumes — yay! — but I caught my knees on the overhang and smacked them up just a little:

Somewhat ironically I was checking out first aid kits in the outdoor shop yesterday, thinking to myself I could really do with one to carry around in my rope bag what with all the scrapes I seem to pick up and all...
ETA: washing off the excess clotted blood, the actual damage is almost trivial; not much more than a handful of cuts and some heavy bruising.
