Cake and Bouldering
Oct. 13th, 2014 10:29 pmDespite bouldering yesterday and despite the horrible weather that required me to wrap myself up in five layers of clothing, I went again today because I'd promised to mark E&N's climbing anniversary. I'm glad I did. I had a good night and felt on much better form than yesterday, despite twinges from one of my quads first thing this morning, there was a good crowd of people in and we were all more or less the same level.
We finished up at nine and stepped upstairs for tea and cake with some of the gang. And what a cake it was: a gluten free mud cake made with six eggs, half a kilo of dark chocolate, double cream, and "a surprisingly large amount of cointreau; it require a jug to measure it out..."

It wasn't quite as unhealthy as it looks — the raspberries and other little bits and pieces of fruit were there to offset the damage, but it wasn't exactly super dietetic. And for all E's fretting about whether it was going to turn out OK, it was absolutely amazing and everyone loved it.
