How to write an essay

Here's my version of the Feynmann method of problem solving, modified to make it better suited to essay writing:

1. Find out the essay title
2. Work out what you ought to read
3. Work out what you've got to read
4. Do as much reading as you can
5. Think real hard about the problem, meanwhile:
• Rearrange your comics in alphabetical order
• Go window shopping
• Do the washing up
• Go running
• Talk to your parents on the phone
• Read a novel
• Write a novel
• Write up some book reviews
• Get into an argument about the nature of morality
• Listen to the radio
6. Write up your finished essay
