sawyl | Bouldering and a leaving party

Moderately successful afternoon of bouldering, with the last few possible problems crossed off for a single point — including one very tricky one that took me probably the best part of ten attempts to get right. After stopping for bit of orange polenta cake, we got chatting about training and nutrician — one of my biggest failings! — with JG, who made me rethink my approach to things. I've realise I really ought to be pushing myself on to harder routes and concentrating on the number of moves I can get right rather than the number I've still got to go to finish the route. Hmm.

Leaving much later than expected, I sacrificed the prospect of a lift home and stopped in at AM's leaving party the Waterfront. It's a real shame to see her go — not least because she's been our quiz queen for the last couple of years and presented us with our lovely little statue — but she's going on to more exciting things elsewhere so easy to be happy for her and to wish her all the best for the future...
