A long day at the factory
Feb. 25th, 2015 09:33 pmA very long day today, after waking at half past four, getting to the office for eight, and not leaving until half past seven - at which point we went to the Chippewa Family Restaurant to finish writing up our daily report over supper. (I had cheese curds - a local speciality - which although billed as a appetiser was more than enough for a main meal)
With time to kill after supper we went back to the Rumour Mill - yesterday's pizza place - for dessert. As we were parking up, I heard the sound of someone struggling to get their car to start in the -25 celcius temperatures. When in looked over I noticed that the whole back of their car was very heavily rusted beater - in total contrast with most of the cars around here, which tend towards new and shiny - at which point I got a serious attack of the giggles.
At the pub, we bumped into - but didn't sit with - various people from the office. The others went for beer - PS was very positive about the stout on tap - while I went for apple juice, and we all went for chocolate brownies - which came in giant American portions - for pudding.
