Back to Coventry
Apr. 24th, 2015 09:41 pmCivilised journey up to Coventry which got me there in time for lunch. We spent a few hours catching up and sorting out some last details ready for tomorrow's birthday party ahead of the arrival of Lyall and Celia, who'd decided to travel up from Brighton a day early.
After a certain amount of indecision we opted for supermarket pizzas rather than a serious meal out, which turned out to be the right option given that some of us were tired after travelling and didn't really want to go out to eat.
Over supper we got to talking about ceramics, especially Alison Britton with a certain amount of nostagic for Carol McNicoll. I have to admit a terrible ignorance and although I'd always vaguely known that one of my parents dining tiles was made by someone famous, I hadn't realised it was one of Ali's early pieces.
