Here's a nice feature of the OS X address book: if your phone is connected to the mac via bluetooth, control-clicking on a phone number gives you the options of dialing or sending an SMS to the number. This latter is particularly great if you're a hopeless texter like me. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] vincel for pointing this out — I'd never have found it otherwise.

After a lazy lunch with [livejournal.com profile] doctor_squale in town, I took a wander round many of Exeter's finest musical emporia, where I happened on Tonus Peregrinus' Hymnes and Songs of the Church. It's essentially a set religious pieces by Orlando Gibbons, arranged and in places augmented by new pieces by Pitts & c, in a most charming manner.

Not only is it musically beguiling, but it's a Naxos, so it took less than a fiver to make it a part of my collection — things don't get much better than that.

I'm glad I'm not director of the proms, for it sounds like they're being hit hard by the luggage restrictions. The continuity guy has just mentioned the hoops Janine Jansen went through in order to get from Interlaken to London without checking her Stradivarius into hold baggage, whilst the guy this morning was making dark comments about whether the Orchestra of St. Luke's would be able to fly over in time for Thursday's concert. Can't be fun.
