So, not time for bed yet? Nope. Ok, so, why not like, chimp on the web for a while. Hey, yeah, that sounds like a good idea. Let's do the what sort of novel should I write quiz and see what happens...

GenreChickLit
CHICK LIT! - Sweet, funny and sarcastic. You are
driven to write of real world career girls with
just a touch of romantic fantasy. Will a
handsome executive walk into your Heroine's
life? Will your Heroine ever reach that corner
office in the sky? You broke your teeth on
Cosmo magazine and Sex in the City is your
inspiration!

What Kind of Novel Should I Write?
brought to you by Quizilla

WTF? How, in God's belly button, can I possibly be a chick lit author? I smell a fix. I don't even own any chick lit, although I used to have a copy of Possession but my sister stole it after I totally foolishly left it unattended for like a few minutes, which suggests it might have been in the CL ball park or something.

Oh well, if there's like one thing I've learnt from watching Star Wars 196,833 times, it's that you can't escape your destiny, so I might as well like get on with it or something:

Polly got out of the lift on the third floor of her PR company, carefully clutching her decaf skinny latte whilst trying to decide if her new shoes made her look fat...

Fame, fortune, here I come...

I see you have quickly grapsed the CL concept! It seems I on the other hand should write a gothic novel...

Image
GOTHICS! - Deep, dark, mysterious and melodramatic.
You are drawn to write tales of the shadows and
what might lurk there. Could it be Love? Or
Madness? Anne Rice and Brahm Stoker are your
guides.

Hooray! I've finally found a way out of Freak Menagerie. I've always kinda seen myself as Martin Amis' natural successor. Cept in Chick Lit.

You, a gloomy goth? Yeah, that makes a strange sort of sense.

You should write dark, brooding novels where the heroine is set upon at every turn, is made to doubt her sanity and eventually gets boarded up in a gloomy lunatic asylum, only to be rescued at the last minute when her mad ravings about doubtful elementary particles (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentaquark) are proven to be real when the hero dashes in at the very last minute with detailed scientific evidence.

As I see it, it pretty much writes itself.

Shite...

You're like totally the gruesome twosome or something.

I reckon you should write a novel about a computer virus that turns people into vampires or something. Kinda like that early episode of Buffy where the internet gets possessed by a demon (What, all of it? Even the bits still running VMS? Freaky). Then, instead of having your swooning heroine rescued by a cute blonde moppet of a Vampire Slayer, you could have her rescued by a geeky yet overweight computer scientist.

Can I predict it or what? I should quit my job and go into book blurb writing or something.

He's probably already read this and is preparing to sue your ass for suggesting that he's anything other than a svelte, jock, all star quarterback...
